Research, entrepreneurship and technology.
Public Policy Researcher | Entrepreneur | Technology & AI Enthusiast
Michael Kipkorir Kemboi is a Kenyan public policy researcher, entrepreneur, and technology enthusiast currently completing his PhD in Public Policy at the University of Nairobi. His doctoral research examines how resilience policies are prioritized and implemented, and how institutional arrangements, market dynamics, and enterprise characteristics influence the sustainability of Kenya’s agri-food sector.
With over a decade of experience in applied research and policy analysis, his work spans food security, international trade, economic development, digital inclusion, institutional governance, and education. As Director of ResearchCannon, a research and policy consultancy in Kenya, he combines quantitative and qualitative research, statistical modelling, and policy analysis to support evidence-based decision-making. His academic contributions include peer-reviewed publications in international journals covering agricultural resilience, food security, trade, nutrition, and financial inclusion.
Beyond academia, Michael brings experience in organizational leadership, business operations, entrepreneurship, and digital innovation. His interests and practical skills extend into website design and development, artificial intelligence applications, digital product development, workflow automation, data analytics, and the integration of emerging technologies into research and business processes.
His ongoing technology projects include The Clerk, an AI-powered Microsoft Word assistant designed to support academic writing, editing, journal formatting, and publication workflows; CareMano, an AI-powered platform being developed to streamline operations, client intake, caregiver recruitment, and communication for home-care agencies; and GoaTRender, an AI-powered 3D rendering platform focused on transforming design ideas and spatial concepts into visual representations. These projects reflect his interest in developing practical digital tools that address challenges across research, business operations, and creative industries.
He is particularly interested in developing AI-assisted research and academic writing tools, designing digital experiences, and using technology to improve productivity, accessibility, and decision-making. His entrepreneurial activities also extend into service-based businesses, reflecting an interest in translating ideas into practical and sustainable operations.
